Paul D.'s Story

Paul Dowell Drewett, 52, of Bradford, passed away Saturday at Holy Family Hospital at Merrimack Valley.
He was born in Haverhill on September 21, 1964, the son of the late Eleanor (Bakarensky) Drewett and James D. Drewett of Haverhill.
Paul was educated in the Haverhill school system and graduated from Whittier Regional Vocational Technical High School’s Electrical Program on June 4, 1983. He worked hard as an apprentice and passed his exam to become a licensed electrician.
He later gave up the electrical trade and went into sales of electrical supplies at Gloucester Supply, Needham Electric, and Ralph Pill.
Paul became a Mason and a Shriner, and volunteered many hours supporting Shriner’s Hospital for Children and in the occupational therapy department at the hospital.
Paul and his wife, Dorothy lived for a number of years in Gloucester, where Paul spent many hours volunteering at the Open Door Food Pantry and Second Glance Thrift Store.
Mr. Drewett is survived by his wife of 17 years, Dorothy Taylor; his father, James Drewett; a brother, James and his wife, Shelley and their son, Tommy Drewett; and a sister, Margot, all of Haverhill. In addition Paul is survived by his uncle, Ian “Mike” Drewett of Florida, and his best friend since grade school, Joseph McPherson.
