GLOUCESTER: Mr. Paul E. Prescott, 64, of Gloucester, passed away Friday, October 16, 2015, after a brief illness. He was the loving husband to Charlene (Fanion) Prescott with whom he shared 20 years of marriage and 27 years of true devoted friendship.
Paul was born March 8, 1951, in Woburn, son of the late Edward M. and Louise F. (Karrer) Prescott. He was a resident of Gloucester.
Paul worked as a Mechanical Inspector for CPI in Beverly for many years. He previously worked for Sintered Metals and Varian in Gloucester. He was also a volunteer for Cape Ann Animal Aid and served his country in the National Guard.
He loved everything boating. He was taught to motor boat, row, and then swim by his parents. A true Yankee handyman, Paul enjoyed fixing things around the house for family, friends, and neighbors. He was known for his meticulous attention to detail. He was a long-time harbor master for the Wolf Hill Association. One of his treasured joys in life was spending time with his grandchildren. Paul's favorite place to be was the back of Crane's Beach on his and Charlene's boat, The Squirtfish, and taking skiff rides with his dog Scuppers. His idea of the perfect evening was listening to Jimmy Buffet while drinking Captain and Coke and watching the sun set over the Annisquam.
In addition to his loving wife, Charlene Prescott, Paul is survived by his daughter, Anna Baeli, and her husband, Andrew, of Little River, S.C.; his brother, Fred Prescott of Texas; and his loving grandchildren, Braydon and Christiana Baeli.
Relatives and friends are warmly invited to attend a Celebration of Paul's Life on Saturday, November 7, 2015, from 1 to 4 p.m. at The Harbor Room, 8 Norwood Court, Gloucester.
