Pearl C.'s Story
Pearl C. Parisi, 80, of Gloucester, passed away on Sunday, April 9, 2017, at the Beverly Hospital surrounded by her loving family.
She was born in Gloucester on February 27, 1937, daughter of the late Salvatore and Grace (Scola) Parisi.
Pearl attended Gloucester schools. She worked at O’Donnell-Usen as a fish packer for a few years and later at Rule Industries as a sonic welder, until her retirement.
She had a zest for life. Everything she did was with her family and for her family.
Her greatest devotion was to her nieces and nephews, whom she loved watching grow up and later her great-nieces and nephews, who also became a significant part of her life, and she loved very much. Everyone knew aunt Pearl because of the active role she took in her nieces and nephews lives including attending sporting events, drop offs and pickups at school and many other important events in their lives. Pearl enjoyed playing bingo and taking bus trips to the casino. One of her favorite things to do was going out for coffee at Charlie’s with the girls. She had special relationship with her sister and best friend, Rosalie. They were always seen together shopping, out to lunch or at church events. She was a very devoted parishioner of St. Ann’s Church and could also be found volunteering for the annual Christmas Bazaar. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
She is survived by her sister, Rosalie Orlando and her husband, James; two brothers, Joseph Parisi and his wife, Marie, Philip Parisi and his companion, Diane; nieces and nephews, Alicia Parisi, Jennifer Maniaci and her husband, Franco and Salvatore Parisi; step-niece and nephew, Margaret Orlando and Andrew Orlando and his wife, Pam; great-grandnieces and nephews, Gianna, Justace, Joseph Allen, Claudia Maniaci and Nolan Orlando; step-great-grandniece and nephew, Alexandria Orlando and her fiancé, James and Andrew Orlando, Jr. and his wife, Amanda; and her best friends, Kathleen and Fina.
She was predeceased by many aunts, uncles and cousins.
Her funeral will be held from the Greely Funeral Home, 212 Washington Street, Gloucester on Wednesday morning, April 12 at 10:15 a.m., followed by a Mass celebrated in St. Ann’s Church, Holy Family Parish at 11 a.m. Relatives and friends are invited to attend.
The burial will be held in Calvary Cemetery, Gloucester.
