Peter A. Kerr

October 08, 1937 - November 30, 2018

Peter A. Kerr Carbondale, CO - Peter A. Kerr passed away peacefully in his Blue Lake home November 30, with Lynn, his wife of 35 years, and Debbi his daughter at his side. He is survived by his wife, Lynn Kerr; his children, Arthur R. Kerr II (Mio) of Center Sandwich, N.H.; Debbi (Charlie Augustine) of Boston, Mass.; Lee Donnelly (Bob) of Bayville, N.J.; his grandchildren, Elsa, Anna, Leo, Erik, and Lucia; his brother Tom Kerr (Laura) of Bethlehem, Pa., and several nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his parents A. Roland and Bertha Kerr; his brother, John and Jean Kerr; and three nephews. Peter enlisted in the U.S. Army infantry, serving for seven years during the Cold War era and mustered out at the rank of 2nd Lieutenant. Peter then enjoyed a successful career as a New England Life Agent, retiring early to pursue his life-long love of adventure. Peter’s life was full of travel adventures, including 17 years of motor home travels, enjoying hiking, golfing, skiing, along with multiple family visits throughout North America. Peter always enjoyed watching New England sporting events with Lynn, especially those Red Sox! Peter was a very active member of the Tyrian Lodge of the Ancient Free and Accepted Masons of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, serving as Master in 1976. He was also a member of the BPOE Lodge in Aspen, Colo. Peter has always shared his sense of humor and wit with everyone he encountered. His mischievous personality and attitude is sorely missed by all who love him. Peter’s family would like to invite you to the memorial service January 5, 2019, at 11 a.m., to be held at Carbondale Community Methodist Church, 385 S. 2nd St., Carbondale, CO 81623. I remember Peter from many years ago, when he lived in Gloucester. He was a fun-loving guy, who always had a smile on his face. He was a man of great humor, I will always remember the provocative portrait he had hanging in his home. This was back in the 1970's...I'm certain you will remember, if you were there!
I am sorry to hear of his passing...we need more people in this world like Peter!!
Please accept my sympathy during this difficult time.
