Mrs. Phyllis M. (Low) Swift, 90, of Gloucester passed away on Saturday, January 20, 2018 in Seacoast Nursing and Rehabilitation Center following a lengthy illness. She was the wife of the late Charles H. Swift, Jr.
Phyllis was born January 9, 1928. She is the daughter of the late Milton E. and Olive (Wells) Low. She was a lifelong resident of Gloucester, a graduate of Gloucester High School where she was a recipient of the Sawyer Medal. She went on to further her education at the Massachusetts General Hospital School of Nursing.
Phyllis was a Registered Nurse working at Addison Gilbert Hospital for many years. She also worked at the former Danvers State Hospital.
Phyllis was a Hospice volunteer for several years. After Charles retired he and Phyllis enjoyed traveling with their trailer. They visited many State and National Parks.
She is survived by her children Charles H. Swift, III of Gloucester, David Swift of Gloucester and Audrey Anolick of Arizona. She is also survived by her grandchildren John, Alicia, James and Joshua.
In addition to her husband Charles and her parents, Phyllis is predeceased by her daughter Valerie D'Antonio.
