Ralph R.'s Story
Gloucester - Ralph R. Oliver, 79, of Gloucester passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday morning, May 9, 2018 at his residence.
He was born in Gloucester on October 20, 1938, son of the late Lawrence and Hortense (Naves) Oliver.
He attended St. Ann’s School. Ralph worked for Harold Dexter/Consolidated Construction as a carpenter for over 13 years and later owned his own carpentry business for over 30 years.
He is survived by his daughter, Denise Burns and her husband Brian; 2 sons, Ralph Oliver Jr. and his wife, Susan, Mark Oliver and his wife Maria; 6 grandchildren, Brian Goulart and his wife, Leah, Shaun Goulart, Katlyn Oliver, Macaella Oliver, Macey Oliver and Brendan Oliver; two great-grandsons, Jackson and Brooks Goulart; three sisters, Geraldine Puglisi, Barbara Cream and Judith Mitchell; his brother, Lawrence Oliver Jr. and his wife Joanne; brother-in-law, Louis Voller and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was predeceased by two sisters, Mary Voller and Nancy Oliver; brother-in-law, Joseph Puglisi and cousin, Donald Sears.
His funeral Mass will be celebrated in Our Lady of Good Voyage Church on Saturday, May 12, at 9:30 a.m. Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend. A visitation will be held prior to the Mass on Saturday in the Greely Funeral Home, 212 Washington Street, Gloucester from 8 to 9 a.m. The burial will be held in Dolliver Memorial Cemetery, West Gloucester. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in his name to the American Diabetes Association, 10 Speen Street, 2nd Floor, Framingham, MA 01701.
