GLOUCESTER: Richard E. Burkhardt "Buster" age 75 years of Roundtop N.Y., Ft. Lauderdale, Fla. and Alton Bay, N.H. passed away suddenly on Oct. 1, 2015 at Columbia Memorial hospital, Hudson, N.Y. He was born in Beverly, Dec. 7, 1939, to the late Edward and Hilda (Lampert) Burkhardt. Survivors include his loving wife of 12 years, Cynthia (Eaton) Burkhardt; daughter, LIssa Cherubini and her husband, Robert; two grandchildren, Bethany and Caroline also his brother, Horace Deland Burkhardt.

He was and avid hunter and sportsman, he loved skiing, he loved his motorcycle and his dogs. He enjoyed boating and tuna fishing. His largest tuna trophy was 1,027 lbs.

He was a member of the NRA with numerous wild animal trophies. While having his construction company, he built hundreds of homes, majority of them being Deck houses on the Northshore, as well as, three hotels, (Captain's Bounty, Cape Ann Motor Inn, and Cape Ann Marina Resort. He also built and ran the Lobster Cove Market in Annisquam.
