Richard H.'s Story
Richard H. Feener, 92, of Rockport, formerly of Gloucester, passed away peacefully at his home on Tuesday morning, August 2, 2016.
Richard was the son of the late Sidney and Martha (Gray) Feener of Gloucester and in addition was predeceased by his daughter, Sharon and his siblings Sidney Jr., Everett, Eva, Gladys, Stanley and Roger.
Richard was born in Gloucester on January 30, 1924. He was a graduate of Gloucester High School with the Class of 1942 and then served in the U. S. Army for three years during World War II. Later he worked for Americold Services as a dispatcher and receiving clerk for 27 years.
He was a lifelong member of the Gloucester AMVETS and the Edward Peterson Post 98 Rockport American Legion. He loved following the New England Patriots and their quests for Super Bowls and really enjoyed watching professional golf on television.
He is survived by his devoted son, Thomas Feener of Gloucester; grandchildren, Alyssa and her husband, Travis Belgard of California, Jessica and her husband, Mark Unis of Gloucester, Megan and her mother Maura Feener of Gloucester, Nimai Kasecky and his wife Annie of Pennsylvania, Mirabai Kasecky, Nakula Kasecky and Kumara Kasecky, all of Hawaii; great-grandchildren, Melina, Leilani, Monty and Braylen; as well as many nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held in the Greely Funeral Home, 212 Washington Street, Gloucester, on Tuesday, August 9th at 10 a.m. Extended family and friends are cordially invited to attend.
A visiting hour will precede the service on Tuesday from 9 to 10 a.m.
The burial will be held at a later date.
