MANCHESTER-BY-THE-SEA: Richard J. Lysiak, 74, beloved son of the late Frank and G. Frances (Dynice) Lysiak, passed away on Sunday, January 10, at Beverly Hospital.
Dick was a lifelong resident of Manchester and a graduate of Story High School. He served his country in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War. For 34 years, Dick served on the Manchester Police Department. He was active in the Manchester Community, being the town Santa every year for close to three decades, he volunteered his cooking for the American Legion and the Manchester Club. He enjoyed the Spring Golf Tournament and most of all, loved being with his family and grand dogs Scrabble, Bambi, and Minnie.
He is survived by two daughters, Bridget Lysiak of Manchester, and Brianna Lysiak of Gloucester; niece, Tara Smith; and many friends and extended family members. He is predeceased by his brother, Anthony Lysiak and sister, Patricia Lysiak.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Our Lady of Good Voyage Church, 142 Prospect Street, Gloucester, on Friday at 9:30 a.m. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Burial will be held privately. Friends and family are invited to join with Dick’s family at the American Legion Post 113, 14 Church Street, Manchester-by-the-Sea, MA.
