Lowell - Robert (Bob) Landoni Jr., 55, passed away peacefully at his home in Lowell, Mass., on April 18, 2019. He was born in Beverly Hospital on June 3, 1963, to Robert A. Landoni and Carol J. Landoni and was raised in Gloucester. Bob graduated from Gloucester High School, class of 1981, where he played trombone and baritone horn in the concert and marching bands. He attended Boston's Berklee College of Music, and later graduated from RETS Electronics School in Boston.
Bob worked in the field of television as a Remote Broadcast Engineer at WMUR in N.H. He went on work at Olectron in Beverly, and most recently was an electronics technician at Lockheed Martin in Chelmsford, earning several awards for his excellence in his field.
Growing up, Bob was involved with Gloucester's Masonic Lodge as an active DeMolay member. This continued into adulthood as his devoted service raised him to become a Past Master of The Tyrian Lodge A.F. & A.M. and a Past High Priest of the William Ferson Royal Arch Chapter.
Bob was known to have "perfect pitch" and had a vast knowledge and appreciation of jazz and classical music. He was a former member of several bands, including the Boston Fireman's Band and the Rockport Legion Band.
From a young age, Bob was always interested in radio and the early days of television. He was a licensed HAM Radio enthusiast and lover of vintage audio and video recordings and gear. Bob generously shared his talents and interests with his family and friends.
Although quiet on the surface, Bob's witty sense of humor and show biz chutzpah endeared him to many and provided mirth and merriment to all that knew him. He generously helped with several independent video projects in which he performed, served as camera/audio technical director, and producer.
Without a doubt, Bob was a great lover of cats and enjoyed fostering cats and kittens for the Manchester Animal Shelter in N.H.
He is survived by his parents, Robert and Carol Landoni of Gloucester; a brother, David Landoni of Danvers; a sister, Alison Landoni; and a nephew, Benjamin Wickey of Rockport; former wife, Deborah Tansey Landoni of Manchester, N.H; good friends, Jim Wickey and the Wickey/Dodge family; maternal aunts, Connie Gossom, Louise Bedard, Shirley Landergren, all of Gloucester; paternal aunts, Louise Ferazzi of Gloucester and Esther Emerson of Ocala, Fla.; first cousins, Cindy Rich, Bruce Landergren, Deborah Beauregard, Diane Plante, Jane Brown, all of Gloucester, Judy Young of Macon, Ga.; Joanne Marlette, of Chippewa, Wis., Carolyn Della Piano of Alton Bay, N.H., Deborah Fitzgibbon of Cape Neddick, Suzie Barnett of Sperry, Okla.; and of course his two cats, Misty and Peanut.
His funeral service will be held at the Gloucester United Methodist Church, 436 Washington Street, Gloucester, on Wed., April 24, 2019, at 11 a.m. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Interment will be held privately. Visiting hours at the Campbell Funeral Home, 61 Middle Street, Gloucester, on Tues., April 23, 2019, from 4 to 7 p.m. There will be a Masonic service on Tues. evening at 6 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations in Bob's memory can be made to the Manchester Animal Shelter, 490 Dunbarton Road, Manchester, NH 03102.

Sending love to Alison and her whole family in their grief and loss. I remember Bob as kind, funny, quiet older brother to my sweet friend Alison, and as one exceptional musician on Cape Ann. We’ll miss him. We are all holding you in love and prayers. MH&M

Dave and family,

I am so sorry to hear of Bob Jr.'s passing. The passing of a sibling or a child is somewhat out of order and certainly changes your world as you have ever known it. May he rest in peace and may all of you find peace and solace in the umbrella of love that your friends, family and God are covering you all in at this time.
