Mr. Robert W. Cusick, Jr., 77, of Florida, formerly of Gloucester, passed away on Tuesday, July 11, 2017, in St. Elizabeth’s Hospital following a brief illness. He was the loving spouse to Ibraham Rashed with whom he shared three years of marriage.
Bobby was born April 24, 1940, in Gloucester. He was the son of the late Robert Cusick, Sr. and the late Priscilla (Sawyer) Cusick Benedetto. He was raised in Gloucester. He attended Gloucester Schools and received his high school diploma from Gloucester High School. He resided in Gloucester for many years before moving to Florida with Ibraham.
Mr. Cusick proudly served his country as a member of the seagoing United States Marine Corp and served on the U.S.S. Macon. He was an avid fan of professional soccer and the New England Patriots.
He is survived by his three sisters, Marilyn Misuraca, Joyce O’Maley and Marjorie Meinerth, as well as a half-brother, David Cusick. He is also survived by his aunt, Rosemarie Sawyer, and many nieces, nephews and friends. He was predeceased by his mother, Priscilla; father, Robert, Sr.; step-father, Vito Benedetto; and his brother, Ronald Cusick. He will be sadly missed by family, friends, nieces, nephews and all he met during his lifetime.
Robert’s Memorial Service will be in the Pike-Newhall Funeral Home, 61 Middle St., Gloucester, on Friday, July 21, 2017, at 12:30 p.m. Interment will follow in Seaside Cemetery.
