Stella E.'s Story

Stella E. (Kondelin) Aptt, 94, wife of the late Robert E. Aptt, passed away on Tuesday, October 17, 2017 surrounded by her loving family.
She was born in Gloucester on November 1, 1922, daughter of the late Gustaf and Annie (Johnson) Kondelin.
Stella loved being a mother, taking care of her children and her home. She was very proud that she could be a stay at home mother and be there for her family. In her early years, she worked as a secretary for the Net and Twine on Maplewood Avenue in Gloucester. Her weekly and holiday family gatherings/feasts will provide cherished memories to her large immediate and extended family. To the enjoyment of her guests she was also an avid baker. She loved swimming and enjoyed time in the family pool with the Grandchildren. In her later years Stella loved working with word search puzzles to “keep her mind sharp”. Stella will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
She is survived by her two daughters, Judy Potkay and her companion, Robert O’Donnell, Diana Frontiero and her husband, Anthony; grandchildren, Robert O’Donnell and his wife, Tammy, Sheri Ray and her companion Jim O’Brien, Alicia Oliver and her husband, Michael, Lori Taormina and her husband, Frank, Salvatore Aiello and his wife, Stacy, Anthony Frontiero Jr. and his wife, Jenna, William Frontiero and his wife, Meghan, and JoAnn Wallius; great-grandchildren, Brian and Steven O’Donnell, Travis O’Donnell, Rebecca Ray, Samantha, Benjamin and Zachary Oliver, Joseph, Jacob, Juliana and Genevieve Taormina, Lindy, Robert and Owen Aiello, Jayce, Cash, Stella and Remi Frontiero, Logan, Blake and Tanner Frontiero; great-great-grandchildren, Jacob, Robbie and Lucas O’Donnell; sister-in-law, Katherine Esty; brothers-in-law, Kenneth Aptt and his wife, Willa, John Aptt and his wife Barbara along with several nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was predeceased by her parents, Gustaf and Annie Kondelin; sister, Alma Kondelin and brothers, Albert, Charles, George (Jerry) Kondelin; sisters-in-law, Dorothy Goulart and Louise Marques, as well as her in-laws, Louise and Howard Aptt.
Her Funeral Service will be held in the Greely Funeral Home, 212 Washington Street, Gloucester on Monday, Oct. 23, 2017 at 11 a.m. Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend. The burial will be held in Seaside Cemetery, Gloucester.
Visiting hours in the Greely Funeral Home will be held on Sunday, Oct. 22, from 5 to 8 p.m.
