Stephen M.'s Story
Stephen M. Lane, 67, died on October 31, 2016, at his residence with his loving family by his side.
Stephen was born January 6, 1949 in Waltham, Mass., and adopted by the late Rodney H. Lane and Evelyn Conant Lane of Lanesville. He attended and graduated Gloucester High School in 1968, served four years in the U.S. Air Force, and married JoAnne (Sutherland) Lane in 1971. Steve then moved his family to Wheelwright in 1978, where he worked at the IGA in Ware, and owned and operated the Gilbertville Coffee Shop. More currently, Steve worked at the Massachusetts State Police Academy in New Braintree, then at the MSP Headquarters in Framingham before retiring. Steve was a longtime member of New Life Assembly of God in South Barre.
He is survived by his wife of 45 years, JoAnne; four children, Eric A. Lane and his wife, Jennifer, Heather A. Lane, Holly A. Boulette, and Nathaniel M. Lane and his wife, Shelly; seven grandchildren, Christina M. Lane, Brandon A. Lane, Ryan Letendre and his wife, Kayla, Deanna C. Streeter Boulette, Jasmine N. Lane, Noah M. Lane and Emily E. Lane; a great-granddaughter, Aubree R. Letendre; a brother, Robert Lane of Rowley, Mass.; and nieces and nephews. Steve was predeceased by his twin sister, Stephanie M. Spencer.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend calling hours on Friday, November 4, 2016, from 4 to 7 p.m. in Pillsbury Funeral Home, 96 So. Barre Rd., Barre.
