Victoria P.'s Story
Victoria P. (Pessolano) Carbone died July 1, 2017 at the age of 83.
Born in Springfield, Mass. on September 28, 1933, she was the daughter of Attorney Vincent Pessolano and Mary (Peters) Pessolano.
Victoria was an elementary school teacher for 20 years and lived in Westboro, Mass. Victoria also worked as a Special Education Surrogate Parent for 17 years following her teaching career. She retired in 1985 and moved to Agawam and summered in her beloved cottage on Long Beach in Rockport, Mass.
Above all other things, Victoria loved being a mom, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was also an active member of the Agawam Senior Center, the Rockport Garden Club, a Girl Scout leader and a Cub Scout Leader. Early in her career she also owned the Little Yankee Kindergarten in Agawam.
Victoria is predeceased by her husband, Richard P. Carbone, Sr. in 2006. She leaves her beloved sons, Richard P. Carbone, Jr. and his wife, Heather of Winchester, Mass., Dr. Thomas V. Carbone and his wife, Mary Kay of Rockport, Mass., Donald P. Carbone and his wife, Linda of Lexington, Ky. and Peter J. Carbone and his wife, Ann of Long Beach, Calif.; sister, Amelia "Sis" Ryan of Springfield, Mass., cherished grandchildren, Jessica, Monica, Thomas Jr., Sara, Michael, Emily, Michelle, Peter Jr., and Elizabeth (Carbone) Meyers and great-grandchildren, Liam, Callum, and Frankie, as well as many nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held for Victoria on Wednesday, August 16th, 2017 at 10:30 a.m. followed by lunch at the Agawam Congregational Church at 745 Main Street, Agawam, Mass.
