Willa J.'s Story
Willa J. (Mack) Aptt, 86, wife of Kenneth J. Aptt Sr. of Gloucester, passed away on Wednesday, October 25, 2017 at the Kaplan Family Hospice House in Danvers.
She was born in Gloucester on July 25, 1931, daughter of the late Willam and Bertha (Johnson) Mack.
Willa was a graduate of Gloucester High School. She worked for Stop & Shop in the meat department for a few years, then at Wolf Hill and later at O’Donnell Usen as a secretary until her retirement.
She enjoyed watching sport with her husband only if Chronicle or Phantom Gourmet wasn’t on, those were her favorite shows. She loved cooking, especially for her family.
Willa was a life-long member of the VFW. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
She is survived by her husband of 65 years, Kenneth Aptt Sr.; daughter, Teri Jones of New Hampshire; two sons, Kenneth Aptt Jr. and his wife, Roberta, Michael Aptt and his wife Barbara, all of Gloucester; three grandchildren, Danni DeKant, Derek Aptt and Dylan Aptt; a great-grandson, Tyler Aptt; her sister, Virginia Mack of Gloucester; granddaughter-in-law, Kendra Aptt and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was predeceased by her grandson, Travis Aptt.
A private graveside service will be held in Beechbrook Cemetery, Gloucester.
