Agnes L. Morey, 91, died peacefully at Kaplan Family Hospice House in Danvers on October 3, 2017. She was the daughter of the late William J. Aubrey and the late Mary E. “Maisie” Libro, both of Gloucester.
Born and raised in Gloucester, as a young woman she loved the “Big Bands” and she loved to dance the “Jitterbug” at the time. Later she enjoyed the music of the 1950s. She loved spending time on Niles Beach with her children and she loved taking long walks around downtown Gloucester and Stacy Boulevard. She was also a longtime employee of Gorton's Seafood, one of America's iconic seafood brands, where she began working on the “lines” and worked her way up to an office position until her retirement.
She leaves behind her children, Gail Mountain, wife of Joseph Mountain, Jr., and Karen Schebel, all of Gloucester; grandchildren, Laura Mondello, Stacey Mountain, Jack Carrancho, husband of Kendra (Hardy), all of Gloucester, Erin Mountain Sayess of Deltona, Fla., Robert C. Morey of Connecticut, and Joshua Mountain of Largo, Fla.; great-grandchildren, Chelsea, Eric, Keaton, Keath, Ila and Julia; a brother, Vincent Libro; two sisters-in-law, Lois Libro and Milli Aubrey; a close cousin, Jane Militello; many nieces and nephews and close family friends, Gaye Favazza Deyeso and Steve Sayess.
She was predeceased by her husband, Robert M. Morey, Sr.; her son, Robert M. Morey Jr. and his wife, Elizabeth “Liz” (Cecilio); a son-in-law, Arthur Schebel; two brothers, William J. Aubrey, Jr. and Allan Libro and his wife, Angelina; a special aunt, Harriet Gillis; a close cousin, Sally Brown; and her great-granddaughter, Violet Mountain.
There will be no services as her longtime wish was to make a donation to Tufts University School of Medicine Gift Program and that wish has been honored by her family.
