Alicia C. (Clark)'s Story
Mrs. Alicia C. (Clark) Parker, RN of Manchester-by-the Sea, passed away at home at the age of 95 following a brief illness.
Alicia was born June 2, 1921, in Newton, Mass., daughter of the late J. Redman and Alice (Coddington) Clark. She was a resident of Manchester-by-the-Sea for over 60 years. Alicia was a graduate of Beaver Country Day, Bradford Junior College and Boston Children's Hospital School of Nursing, where she did her training at Mass General Hospital. She was a WWII veteran where she served in the U.S. Navy Nurse Corp stationed at Chelsea Naval Hospital. Alicia was a volunteer at Addison Gilbert Hospital in Gloucester, Mass., until the age of 93, accumulating over 9,000 volunteer hours.
Alicia was predeceased by her daughter, Suzi Parker King. She is survived by her two sons, William R. “Rusty” Parker of Edenton, N.C., and Thomas W. Parker and his wife, Lori A. of Farmington, Conn.; and their two children, Jonathan Alexander Parker and Sarah Alyssa Parker.
Alicia fondly remembered all of her long time neighbors on Walker Road, in town and at the Manchester Bath & Tennis Club where she was a member for over 40 years. A very special thank you from Alicia's family to Valerie Fay for her love, friendship, devotion and care of mom in her final days, as well as all others that assisted In her care.
In accordance with Alicia’s wishes there will be no visiting hours and funeral services will be private.
