Mr. Anthony J. “Tony” Palazola, 79, of Gloucester, passed away Thursday morning, June 9, 2016 in Seacoast Nursing and Rehabilitation following a lengthy illness. He was the loving husband to Sandra J. (Curcuru) Palazola with whom he shared 55 years of marriage.
Tony was born June 11, 1936 in Gloucester, son of the late Frank and Jennie (Demetri) Palazola. He was a lifelong resident of Gloucester. A graduate of Gloucester High School, Class of 1954. After returning from the Korean War he studied Electronics at the Mass Radio School in Boston.
He worked as an Electronic Technician for Emhart Industries for 48 years retiring in 2005. He previously worked for Draeger Medical Systems.
He was a United States Navy and served during the Korean Conflict. He served his Country proud for four years and held the rank of FTA 3.
Tony enjoyed being with his family, they vacationed in Florida and would take his family to Cape Cod every year for a vacation. He also enjoyed his computer and was a history and movie buff.
In addition to his dedicated wife Sandra, Tony is survived by his three loving daughters Cassie M. Doyon and her husband, Kevin of Bradford, Krista Russo and her husband, Paul of Gloucester and Julie Sanfillippo and her husband, Joseph of Gloucester; his sister, Judy Parisi of Gloucester; his grandchildren, Paul and Michael Russo, Linsey and Kyle Doyon, Ryan and Noah Sanfillippo, many nieces and nephews including Grace Frost and her husband, Sean and their daughter Layce, Thomas Parisi and his wife, Seema and their children, Gia and Sophia, Jennifer Parisi and her son, Nathan Potter. He is also survived by many aunts, uncles and cousins.
He was the brother-in-law of the late Nicholas Parisi.
Tony’s Memorial Mass will be celebrated at Holy Family Parish in St. Ann’s Church, 60 Prospect St., Gloucester, on Tuesday, June 14, 2016 at 10 a.m. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in Tony’s memory may be made to St. Vincent DePaul Society at Holy Family Parish.
