Barbara (Lumbard) Arute, 59, beloved wife of Frank E. Arute for 39 years, departed this life on Friday, July 29, 2016, at home, surrounded by her loving family, after a courageous five year battle with cancer. Barbara was born on November 8, 1956, in Bristol, and was the daughter of Barbara (Brigham) Lumbard of Plainville and the late Carlton Lumbard. In addition to her husband, Barbara leaves her son, Frank C. Arute and his wife, Kim of Los Angeles, Calif.; her daughter, Lauren Arute of Brooklyn, N.Y.; her brother, Ralph Lumbard and his wife, Sandra; her sister, Cheryl Benvenuto and her husband, Rudy; her special nephew and Godson, Michael Benvenuto; sister-in-law, Cindi Calcinari and her husband, Michael; her brother-in-law, William Arute; aunts and uncles, Kenneth and Tribby Joyce, Sandra Harris, Linda and Ken Alywin, Muriel and Gene Feener, Mary Ann Lumbard; and her many cousins. She was predeceased by her uncle, Ed Harris.
A memorial Mass will be celebrated on Friday, August 5, at 10 a.m. at the Church of the Incarnation, 544 Prospect Street, Wethersfield. Everyone is asked to go directly to the church. Calling hours will be held on Thursday, 4 to 7 p.m. at the D’Esopo Funeral Chapel, 277 Folly Brook Boulevard, Wethersfield. Burial will be private.
