Barbara V.'s Story
Barbara V. (McCarthy) Conroy, 90, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Tuesday at her home. Barbara was an avid and talented painter. Her walls were always decorated with her precious artwork. Barbara was a voracious reader and was intensely curious about life, especially politics. She enjoyed nightly debates with her niece, Patty Woodbury, about the Presidential elections. She was also a staunch Boston Red Sox fan and never missed watching a game. She was deeply loved and will be greatly missed.
Barbara was the devoted mother of three sons, Francis, Barry and Paul Conroy, all of whom predeceased her. She is survived by her husband of 67 years, Paul E. Conroy. Also surviving is her daughter, Julie E. Conroy and her partner, Peter A. Masse of Amesbury; her granddaughter, Sarah Katherine Fox of Chicago, Ill.; and her brothers, John and Ronald McCarthy, both of Ipswich.
Graveside funeral services will be held at a later date. Arrangements are by the Campbell Funeral Home, 525 Cabot Street, Beverly.
