GLOUCESTER: Carole J. (DeCoste) Bouchie, 79, wife of Charles A. Bouchie Jr. of Gloucester, passed away at her home on Tuesday morning, September 1, 2015.

Born in Gloucester on January 6, 1936, she was the daughter of the late Abram and Madeline (Silva) DeCoste.

Carole was a graduate of Gloucester High School, Class of 1954. In addition to raising her three children, she worked a variety of jobs starting as a soda jerk and ending as a clerk at Bookends in Gloucester. Carole was a member of the Boston Church of Christ, Northern Region.

Although Carole was an avid reader that was the only time she sat still. She loved music, singing with the LaLaLa Singers, all kinds of dancing from the jitterbug to African dance and, most recently, Tai Chi and line dancing with the gals at Miss Tina’s. Her family and friends were important to her and her devotion to them fierce. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

In addition to her husband Charlie, she is survived by her son, Glenn Bouchie and wife, Jayne West; her daughters, Deborah Drzymala and husband, Ray, Lisa Bouchie and husband, Jon Holland; grandchildren, Arlen Holland, Allegra Holland and her husband, Marcello Ciaramitaro, Hattie Holland and her husband, Aaron Jerome; great-grandchildren, Griffin and Milo Ciaramitaro, and Remy Jerome; her sister, Jacqueline “Jackie” Williams and husband, Earl; many nieces, nephews, and a multitude of friends.

She was predeceased by her sisters, Nancy Howard and Claire Papows.

A graveside service will be held in Beechbrook Cemetery, Gloucester on Friday, September 11, at 4 p.m. Extended family and friends are cordially invited to attend. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in her memory to Jimmy Brown, 431 Essex Street, Gloucester, MA 01930 to assist his kidney transplant fund.
