Cathy E.'s Story
Cathy E. Silva, 68 of Danvers, formerly of Gloucester, passed away peacefully on Monday November 28, 2016 at Kaplan Hospice House, Danvers.
She is survived by her sister, Pamela D. Plummer and her husband, Roger L. Plummer of Kennebunk, Maine; a nephew, Michael R. Plummer of Bonney Lake, Washington as well as many nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews. Cathy is also survived by her step mother, Mary L. Silva and her stepsister, Deborah Silva, her Aunt Pearl C. Dorey of Beverly, as well as many many cousins.
Cathy was predeceased by her father, John E. Silva, Jr. and her Mother Charlotte P. (Goodwin) Silva, of which she had a very special bond, they are again reunited.
Cathy loved to socialize, she had a great sense of humor and she loved to laugh. Her happiest memories were of gatherings with friends and family. Cathy has had a difficult journey in this life and with the help of her extended family of loving staff members in the home that she lived in for over 20 years she has lived a happy life. They have been so giving and loving, they made her a part of their life and made her laugh, something she loved to do.
Her funeral service will be held in the Greely Funeral Home, 212 Washington St., Gloucester, on Saturday, December 3rd at 11 a.m. Extended family and friends are cordially invited to attend. Burial will be held in Calvary Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in her name to Friends of Hathorne State School, Inc., 450 Maple St., Hathorne, MA 01937.
