Cheryl C.'s Story
Mrs. Cheryl C. (Ekborg) Bragg, 71, of Gloucester passed away on Friday, November 25, 2016, in Addison Gilbert Hospital after a brief illness. She was the wife of the late Robert K. Bragg.
Cheryl was born March 5, 1945, in Gloucester. She was the daughter of the late Paul W. and Candace I. (Kelsey) Ekborg. She was a lifelong resident of Gloucester as well as a graduate of Gloucester High School.
She was a caring, dedicated person who enjoyed working as a home health aide at Emeritus at Cherry Hill for several years until her retirement 2011. She previously worked in the cafeteria as well as an aide at Addison Gilbert Hospital for many years.
Cheryl was known by her family as “Auntie Kodak.” She treasured the time she spent with her family and always had a camera in her hand to capture the wonderful memories she shared with her family. Auntie Kodak was a remarkable woman who was devoted to everyone. She was a gentle, caring, thoughtful person who always put everyone ahead of herself. She also enjoyed her summers on Good Harbor Beach and enjoyed the beautiful Gloucester waterfront.
She is survived by her dedicated son, Peter Bragg of Gloucester; two brothers, Dennis P. Ekborg and his wife, Denise of St. Johnsbury, Vt., and Brian J. Ekborg of Florida; one sister, Sandra K. Lakeman and her longtime companion, James W. Robertson of Gloucester; as well as many nieces and nephews.
Cheryl’s memorial visitation will be in the Pike-Newhall Funeral Home, 61 Middle St., Gloucester on Saturday, December 3, 2016, from 9 to 10:30 a.m. Her graveside service will be at 11 a.m. in Cherry Hill Cemetery, Gloucester. In lieu of flowers, donations in her name may be made to the Rose Baker Senior Center, 6 Manuel F. Lewis St., Gloucester, MA 01930 or to a local hospice facility.
