Diane K.'s Story

Diane K. (Babine) Roberts, 69, of Gloucester, passed away on Tuesday, June 27, 2017 at the Seacoast Nursing and Rehabilitation Center after fighting a long hard battle with breast cancer.
She was born in Boston on February 10, 1948, daughter of the late Charles A. and Lina K. (Mackey) Babine.
Diane received her diploma from Gloucester High School in 1986.
She enjoyed very much watching TV especially CSI and ID. Diane being the nice person that she was, loved helping people in any way that she could.
Diane was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and a dear friend to everyone she knew.
She is survived by her son, Kenneth C. Sonia and his companion Lisa; daughter, Kathy A. Robertson all of Gloucester; four grandchildren, Elisha and her husband Tom Gross of Gloucester, Tiffany of Pennsylvania, Nicole and her husband, Jared Baker, Michelle, all of Virginia Beach, Va.; six great-grandchildren, Coty, Chase, Emylee all of Gloucester, Wyatt, Brenton and Adylynn all of Virginia Beach, Va.; sister, Donna Pike of Gloucester; her brother, Donald Babine Sr. and his wife Dorothy of Gloucester; her best friend of 56 years, Sharon Porter of Gloucester and many nieces, nephews and cousins. The family would like to thank Seacoast Nursing and Rehabilitation Center for the incredible loving, caring and support.
She was predeceased by her daughter-in-law, Judith “Angel” Sonia and her feline best friend, Salty.
Visiting Hours in the Greely Funeral Home, 212 Washington Street, Gloucester will be held on Wednesday, July 5, from 4 to 7 p.m. Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend.
There will be no funeral services and the burial will be held privately.
