Douglas F.'s Story
Mr. Douglas F. Duncan, 60, of Gloucester, passed away unexpectedly at home on Wednesday, November 9, 2016. He was the former husband of the late Eve A. (Porter) Duncan.
Doug was born July 25, 1956 in Bridgeport, Conn., son of the late Frederick and Rosemarie (Mudre) Duncan. He was brought up in Newtown, Conn. until moving to Gloucester around 1980.
He was the owner of the Purple Balloon Company (Purple Balloon Man) of Gloucester. It was a business he shared with his wife Eve.
Doug is survived by his stepdaughter, Gilean Bartas of West Hartford, Conn.; his sister, Marie Zaragoza and her husband, Arthur of Largo, Fla.; a niece, Heather Bethea of Philadelphia, His stepmother, Grace Giamanco-Duncan of Pinellas Park, Fla. He was the brother of the late Robert Duncan.
He was a United States Army veteran and held the rank of PFC.
