Edmond Burke's Story
Edmond Burke Nugent, 89, a sweet, loving and sentimental man with an ever present sense of humor, died peacefully on April 9, 2017, of natural causes at his home in Beverly, Mass.
Born April 25, 1927, in Toledo, Ohio, he was preceded in death by his wife, Nancy (McBride Berman) Nugent. He is survived by his sister, Mary Nugent Gehring of Louisville, Ky. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Eva Jean (Cash) Nugent, the mother of his seven children.
Ed was an avid boater and fisherman. His friends and family have happy memories of boating with “the Gipper."
He will be missed by his daughters, Terrill Renwick, Carol Willauer, Nancy Cook, Kathleen Nichols, Julie Gordon, Laurie Nugent; and his son, Ned Nugent (Edmond Burke Jr.); step-sons, Paul and Robert Berman; his 18 grandchildren, Cali Nichols Behm, Ramie Nichols DaPonte, Tate, Michael and Peter Renwick, Steven and Patrick Cook, Casey Gordon Mitchell, Marcey and Eric Gordon, Magee Giarrosso Shalhoub, Aubree and Tess Giarrosso, Miette and Burke Nugent (Edmond Burke, III), Serena, Luke and James Berman; 13 great-grandchildren; sons-in-law, Peter Willauer, Steven Cook, Rich Gordon, Tim Giarrosso; and daughters-in-law, Saskia Nugent and Samantha Berman. He was preceded in death by his son-in-law, David Renwick.
A celebration of Ed's life will held in Rockport on April 19.
