GLOUCESTER, MA: Eunice M. (Stanwood) Geary, 79, of Gloucester, passed away on Saturday, December 19, 2015 at the Seacoast Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Born in Gloucester on June 28, 1936, she was the daughter of the late Earl and Dorothy (Jacobs) Stanwood. Eunice was a graduate of Gloucester High School with the Class of 1954 and West Brook Junior College, Maine in 1956. Eunice had worked very hard her whole life, having raised five children and later starting her own catering business, Classic Cooks. She was always active in her children’s activities as a sports mom, PTO member, room mother and Sunday school teacher. She was well known for her cuisine and enjoyed sewing, knitting, ceramics and doing cross word puzzles. Eunice was also a terrific athlete having played tennis, golf and going for long walks. She always kept her home gardens looking beautiful and later in life, enjoyed her trips to the Bahamas with her companion Dick Brown. Eunice often jokingly referred to herself as the "queen" and no matter the situation she was always "simply ravishing"!
She is survived by her children, Julie Geary and husband Tom Champigny, Craig Geary and companion, Kelly Melendy, Linda Geary, Charlene Morrison and husband, Mark, Stephen Geary; grandchildren, Cliffy Ambrose and his significant other, Jen LaFlam, Stephen Ambrose and his significant other, Emily Townsend Silvia and Bryanna Ambrose, Rachael Cecilio, Alexander, Cassidy and Megan Morrison, Ashley Geary, Sarah Peña; great-grandchildren, Aiden, Julianna, Anthony, Emma and Max; her sister, Sylvia (Stanwood) Morrissey and her late husband Robert Morrissey and their children, Mike and wife, Angela, Scott and wife, Eileen, Alan and wife, Jeanne, Tammy and husband, Joe Cominelli; she was also blessed with her companion, the best guy in the world and partner in crime, Dr. Richard Brown and his children, Dianna, Deanna, David, Doug, Derek, Cheryl and Eric and her special girlfriends, Annie, Barbara, Ann and Helen.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 9, 2016, at 11 a.m. in the First Universalist Unitarian Church, Middle St., Gloucester. Family and friends are cordially invited.
