Frances (Kushmerek) Sampson, 93, of Gloucester, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family Thursday evening, March 9, 2017. She was the wife of deceased Paul L. Sampson and mother of James P. Sampson and wife, Patti, Denise M. (Sampson) Maliski and husband, Greg, and Elaine (Sampson) Maliski and husband, Frank. She was predeceased by her siblings, Mary, Stanley, Beatrice, Sophie, Gladys and Adele. She was a homemaker who loved caring for her children, sewing, dancing, listening to music from the 40s era and gardening into her early 80s. Frances is survived by her many grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Frances is also survived by her special niece, Jeanine Perry and friend, John Goyette, who lent a hand throughout the years. Special thanks to Diane Saunders for all the kindness and warmth given to Fran during the recent years. Thank you to Seacoast Nursing and Rehabilitation Center for making Frances’ final transition a more comfortable closing. Special thank you to Senior Care for all the services they provided. Frances will be sadly missed by those who knew and loved her.
Visiting hours in the Greely Funeral Home, 212 Washington St., Gloucester, MA will be held on Friday, March 24, 2017, from 1 to 3 p.m. Family and friends are cordially invited. Following the visitation there will be a memorial service in the funeral home at 3 p.m. Burial will be held privately. A celebration of Frances’ life will be held at a later date with those she held close to her heart.
