Gail's Story

GLOUCESTER: Gail M. (Gray) Pollard, 69, wife of the late Donald F. Pollard, of Gloucester, formerly of Rockport, passed away at her home on Monday morning, December 7, 2015.

Born in Providence, R.I., on March 29, 1946, she was the daughter of the late Herbert D. Gray Jr. and Margaret (Crocker) Gray.

Gail was a graduate of Rockport High School, Class of 1964. She had attended St. Elizabeth’s Nursing School and later graduated from North Shore Community College. She had worked as a registered nurse at Addison Gilbert Hospital and the Cape Ann Tool Co. in Rockport and later Home Health Care for many years until her retirement. In her spare time, she enjoyed knitting and sewing. She also enjoyed traveling and had visited many places, but she especially loved Hawaii and Ireland.

Gail was a very kind and giving lady. Above all else, she dearly loved her family and especially adored her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She is survived by her devoted daughter, Heidi Morin and husband, Roland of Rockport; grandchildren, Jennifer, Stacey and Brittany Whitten, Dedra Morin, all of Rockport, Karen Fogarty of McGuire AFB, N.J., Michael Morin of Gloucester; great-grandchildren, Madison Slier and Ryan Cotton of Rockport, Kelsie and McKenzie Fogarty of McGuire AFB, N.J.; sisters, Barbara (Gray) Black of Oahu, Hawaii, and Elaine (Gray) Enos and her husband, Kenny of Gloucester; niece, Taya Schram and her son, Wesley of Texas; nephew, Brian Enos of Ipswich; her longtime friend, confidante, and companion, Suzanne Skinner of Gloucester, and her family, Alison (Skinner) Smith and husband, Ken Smith Jr. and their children, Kaitlyn and Meghan of Wilmington, and Scott Skinner of Peabody.

She was predeceased by her brother, Robert Gray of Gloucester.

Her funeral will be held from the Greely Funeral Home, 212 Washington Street, Gloucester on Saturday, December 12, at 10:15 a.m., followed by a Funeral Mass in Our Lady of Good Voyage Church at 11 a.m. Extended family and friends are cordially invited to attend. Visiting hours will be held on Friday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home. The burial will be held in Beech Grove Cemetery, Rockport.
