James "Jimmy" M.'s Story
Jim passed away unexpectedly Saturday, June 4. He was born in Gloucester to Russell and Anne Shields. One of Jim's passions was boxing, fishing, camping and anything outdoors. Jim joined the U.S. Army in 1981 and was stationed in Germany. Upon returning home, he worked for his fathers business, Russ Shields Builders. After his fathers retirement, Jim moved to Maine and worked for seven years as the Foreman for Fiber Materials, Inc. Jim was highly recognized for his individual achievements and was selected as a biographical candidate for Cambridge Who's Who, After returning home, Jim moved to Beverly, and worked for his nephew, Kyle Benson. He loved all of his family unconditionally and was looking forward to his road trip in July to visit his niece, Autumn in upstate N.Y. Jim leaves behind his mother, Anne Shields, siblings, Linda Swicker, Dianna Benson, John Shields, and William Shields. He was predeceased by his father, Russell Shields and brother-in-law, Rusty Benson.
Service will be held at Calvary Baptist Church on Washington St. in Gloucester, Saturday, June 18, at 10 a.m.
