Janice's Story

Mrs. Janice A. (Munroe) Perry, 75, of Gloucester, passed away on Wednesday, March 29, 2017, in Care One at Essex Park in Beverly after a lengthy illness. She was the wife of Richard Iovanne.


Janice was born February 20, 1942, in Gloucester. She was the daughter of the late Herbert J. Munroe, Sr. and May (Moulton) Munroe. She was a lifelong resident of Gloucester. She received her GED and went onto Endicott College, where she received her degree in social work.


She worked at TCB in Gloucester as a licensed social worker for over 20 years, until her retirement.


Janice loved arts and crafts. She also did watercolor painting as well as sewing. She enjoyed going to yard sales and will always be remembered as a loving, very kind and generous person and will be greatly missed by all who loved and knew her.


In addition to her husband, Richard, Janice is survived by her children, Lynda J. Perry-Tully of Danvers, Thomas W. Perry and his wife, Marion of Gloucester, Steven S. Perry of Gloucester and Kevin Perry Hunt and his wife, Kathleen of Gloucester; her siblings, Herbert J. Munroe, Jr. and his wife, Joanie of Gloucester, Geraldine Orlando of Gloucester, Marilyn Ramsey and her husband, Philip of South Carolina, Anne Winchester of Gloucester and Thomas H. Munroe of Gloucester, Marjorie Todd and her husband, Kenny of Gloucester, Jon Brian and his wife, Ola of Maine and Jay Hollinster of Pennsylvania; her four grandchildren, Tiffany Sheehy and her husband, Ryan, Ellie Perry, Taylor and Patrick Hunt; her two great-grandchildren, Olivia and Kellan Sheehy. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews and close friends.


She was predeceased by her former husband, Thomas Perry, Sr.; her sister, Barbara Jean Munroe; and her brothers-in-law, David Winchester and Michael Orlando, Sr.; and nephew Michael Orlando, Jr.
Janice’s memorial visitation will be in the Pike-Newhall Funeral Home, 61 Middle St., Gloucester on Wednesday, April 5, 2017, from 4 to 6 p.m. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited.
