GLOUCESTER: Jerome David Dubrow, 81, of Gloucester, Mass., died in his home on Saturday, April 2, 2016. Jerry was born on June 11, 1934, in Lynn, Mass., to the late Charles and Ethel Dubrow.
He graduated from Swampscott High School, where he excelled in both football and track, holding records for the whole North Shore in sprint races. Jerry graduated from Bates College in 1955. He entered the liquor business not long after, and his affable nature made Cabot Liquors in Beverly the destination for many. Jerry was hard to miss, sporting a clean-shaven head when it seemed only the actors Yul Brynner and Telly Savales wore the style. In 1996, after over 30 years in the business, Jerry retired. He continued to enjoy his two life passions, dogs and sports cars.
Jerry is survived by his loving partner, Rachel Gauthier; sister, Barbara Tobey; son, Robert and his three children, Madelyn, Nathan, and Eleyna; son, John and wife, Audrey; daughter, Jane; daughter, Carrie and her three children, Jason, Emma, and Ava; and daughter, Briana and husband, Paul.
A memorial service will be held at Stanetsky-Hymanson Memorial Chapel, 10 Vinnin Street, Salem, MA on Sunday, April 10, at 2 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Boston Children’s Hospital NICU, Post Office Box 414421, Boston, MA 02241.
