John Godinho of Sayward Street, Gloucester, passed away May 1, 2017, at his home due to an accidental fall.
John was born August 27, 1956, son of the late Carlos and Marjorie (Adams) Godinho. He was a graduate of Gloucester High School, Class of 1975. He went onto Suffolk University where he graduated in 1980. He graduated Magna Cum Laude and studied Liberal Arts and took courses toward a law degree.
He worked at local nursing homes as a chef for many years. He enjoyed working with the elderly.
John was a member of the Loyal Order of the Moose for many years.
He is survived by his sister, Carol Godinho; his brother, Carlos Godinho, Jr.; his nephews, David Beylard, Christian Godinho and Michael Godinho; his aunt, Joana Nazimek and her husband, Henry of Morris Plains, N.J.; his uncle, John Godinho and Mauro deMouta of Rio de Janiero; his sister-in-law, Marjorie Beyland; his longtime friend, Mike Pierce; as well as many close cousins.
He was predeceased by his brother, Larry Beylard, and several aunts and uncles.
