John J. "Jeff"'s Story
Mr. John J. “Jeff” Fletcher, 53, of Gloucester passed away unexpectedly at home on Saturday, December 17, 2016.
Jeff was born July 19, 1963, in Gloucester, son of the late John G. and Sandra D. (Silva) Fletcher. He was a lifelong resident of Gloucester and a graduate of Gloucester High School.
He worked on the Gloucester waterfront for many years as a truck driver for Intershell. He also worked as a bartender at the Legion, Mitch’s and Praddy’s.
Jeff was a sports enthusiast and enjoyed playing basketball with the kids.
He is survived by his sister, Kim E. Jacobs and her husband, Michael, Sr. of Gloucester; his brother, George L. Fletcher and his wife, Maryann of Gloucester; his many nieces and nephews, including Michael Jacobs, Jr. and his fiancé, Alexis Barry, Matthew Jacobs, Sr. and his wife, Kristina and Nechole Jacobs, Rob, Mark and Nicholas Fletcher and Samantha Moore and her husband, Justin. He is also survived by his grand-nieces and grand-nephews, Jaxon and Matthew Jacobs, Jr., Keyannia, Hanna, Elizabeth, Emily and Isabella Fletcher, Kaylynne DeCoste and Aiden Moore.
He was the brother of the late William D. Fletcher.
Jeff’s memorial visitation will be in the Pike-Newhall Funeral Home, 61 Middle St., Gloucester on Wednesday, December 28, 2016, from 4 to 7 p.m. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited.
