Judith A.'s Story
Judith A. (Judy) Munro, of Gloucester, passed away Monday, July 25, after a lengthy illness.
She was born to the late James C Rees and Mary Virginia (Doucette) Rees on May 8, 1947. She was raised in Wakefield and Stoneham, and was a graduate of Stoneham High School, Class of 1965.
In 1966 she married John C. (Jack) Munro and moved to Gloucester where she raised her family. She spent a career running front offices for North Shore Life Magazine and the Town of Rockport Department of Public Works. She enjoyed spending time combing the Cape Ann beaches with her cousins, finding yard sale deals with her daughters, hosting family gatherings and enjoying summer vacations at East Hill Farm in Troy, N.H.
She is survived by her ex-husband, Jack Munro, with whom she maintained an extremely close relationship, her three children, John C. Munro, Jr., of Milford, Jennifer Barnette of Marietta, S.C. and Jessica Kaaya of Gloucester; grandchildren, Sarah Lambert, Caroline Lambert, Emma Lambert and Jordan Munro; siblings, Nancy J. Matisko, Mary V. Rees, John L. Rees and James C Rees, Jr; as well as several in-laws, many cousins, nieces and nephews and lots of loving friends. The family wishes to thank all of those who cared for her over the past year.
Judy requested a private funeral with her immediate family and close friends. In lieu of flowers, the family requests a donation to the Alzheimer’s Association, www.alz.org in her name.
