K. Michael's Story
Kenneth Michael (Mike) McNair’s Journey, 1951 to 2017.
Mike lost his valiant battle with cancer on March 2, 2017. He was born in Gloucester on May 13, 1951. He lived his life to the fullest surrounded by multitudes of friends and family. In addition to the love of his life, his daughter, Lauren McNair (“Punkin Pie”), he leaves his wife, Carole McNair and his stepsons, Christopher Hoffman, married to Pooja (Shah) Hoffman, and Zachary Hoffman and his partner, Makenna Murray. Mike also leaves behind his father, Murray McNair; his sister, Robin McNair; and brother, Scot McNair, married to Kathy McNair. He was predeceased by his mother, Eunice (Green) McNair. He was loved by his in-laws, Carroll McMillan and wife, Esther (Cunningham) McMillan, as well as many nieces and nephews, extended family, and friends.
We trust that Mike will rest in paradise with a golf club in his hand, his feet in the sand, strumming a guitar, and singing his heart out, not necessarily all at the same time. He proved that anyone can do anything they want as long as they put their heart and soul into it. Mike would not like to be remembered for his cancer, so we will remember him instead by the many ways and many times that he brought love and laughter into so many peoples' lives.
At Mike’s request, there will be no funeral services. We are planning a celebration of life on a date to be determined. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation in his memory to Action, Inc., 180 Main Street, Gloucester, MA 01930, where Mike was happily employed for the most recent years.
We love you, Mike, and we will miss you forever.
