Karen (Knowles)'s Story
Mrs. Karen (Knowles) Cabral, 71, of Gloucester passed away Sunday, April 17, 2016, in Golden Living of Gloucester, after a lengthy illness. She was the wife of the late Albert J. Cabral.
Karen was born February 19, 1945, in Gloucester, daughter of the late Parker and Evelyn (Firth) Knowles. She was a lifelong resident of Gloucester and attended Gloucester High school.
She worked as a fish packer on the Gloucester Waterfront. She also helped her husband cooking for his canteen truck, the, Roach Coach.
Karen enjoyed traveling to Canada and visiting casinos. She also enjoyed fishing, taking trips to Maine with her husband, and was an avid Red Sox Fan.
She is survived by one daughter, Kimberley Pereen of Jefferson, Maine; two brothers, Donald P. Knowles and his wife, Sylvia of Gloucester and Roscoe Knowles of Essex; and six grandchildren, Megan N. Pereen, Michael and Andrew Pereen, Keith Mazzeo and his wife, Gerri, Kevin Mazzeo and Lindsey Mazzeo. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her daughter, Pamela Mazzeo; her brother, Robert Knowles; and her sister, Marilyn Gallant.
Karen’s Graveside Services will in Beechbrook Cemetery, Essex Avenue (Route 133), Gloucester, on Saturday, April 30, 2016, at 10 a.m. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend.
