Lucille C.'s Story
Mrs. Lucille C. (Clark) Davis, 89, of Gloucester passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, October 16, 2016, with her loving family at her side. She was the wife of the late Stephen H. Davis.
Lucille was born in Gloucester, June 23, 1927, daughter of the late Benjamin C. and Lora (Martin) Clark. She was a lifelong resident of Gloucester and a graduate of Gloucester High School. Lucille went on to study music at the New England Conservatory and former Longy School of Music in Boston. She worked as a music teacher and taught piano throughout the North Shore and Cape Ann areas for over 20 years. Lucille was also a self-taught artist. She was a past member of the Folly Cove Designers in Lanesville. She also won several awards for her works with portraits of people and animals.
She was a loving person who enjoyed spending time with her family. Her true devotion was taking care of her husband and her beautiful family.
She is survived by her daughter, Susan C.D. Kippen of Gloucester; her former son-in-law, Arthur Kippen of Gloucester; her two grandsons, Andrew L. Kippen of West Newbury and Christopher D. Kippen of Gloucester. Her three great-grandchildren, Alexandra, Kayla and Andrew Kippen; her sister, Natalie Clark of Kittery Pt., Maine; brother-in-law, Lester Hotz of Gloucester and former brother-in-law, Richard Moalli of South Boston. She is also survived by her nieces and nephew, including Heidi and Richard Moalli, Leslie Taliadoros and great-nephew, Jonathan Taliadoros. She was predeceased by her sister, Gloria Hotz.
Lucille’s memorial service will be in St. John Episcopal Church, 48 Middle St., Gloucester on Saturday, October 29, 2016, at 10 a.m. Interment will be in Oak Grove Cemetery, Gloucester.
