M. Pearl's Story
M. Pearl (White) Babb, 98, died at Ledgewood Rehabilitation and Skilled Nursing Center, Beverly on Sunday, November 13, 2016 at the age of 98 years. She was the wife of the late Lt. Thomas Babb, U.S. Navy, lost at sea in 1944 aboard the U. S. Navy Submarine (SS294) Escolar.
She was a longtime resident of Manchester, Mass. and a frequent communicant of Sacred Heart Church, Manchester.
Pearl was a longtime employee of the Cricket Press in Manchester, Magnuson’s Florist also in Manchester and was the secretary for the Fisherman’s Union in Gloucester.
She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
She is survived by her daughter, Sharon Brennan and her husband George of Revere; her son, Thomas Babb and his wife Patricia of Santa Rosa, Calif.; four grandchildren, Gregory Brennan of Annapolis, Md., Alison Brennan Adams and her husband, Daniel of Las Vegas, NV, Karen Arents and her husband, Scott of Santa Rosa, Calif. and Cynthia Babb of Monmouth Junction, N.J.; and her great-grandson, William Thomas Arents.
Her funeral will be held from the Greely Funeral Home, 212 Washington Street, Gloucester on Wednesday, November 23, at 9:15 a.m. followed by a Mass celebrated in Sacred Heart Church, Manchester at 10 a.m. Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend.
The burial will be held in Pleasant Grove Cemetery, Manchester.
Visiting hours in the Greely Funeral Home are on Tuesday from 4 to 7 p.m.
