Mary Ann's Story

Mary Ann Poole, age 83, of Rockport, Mass., passed away peacefully on Thursday, December 15, 2016.
Mary Ann was born in Rockport on April 26, 1933. She was the daughter of the late Arthur and Alice (Peterson) Munroe. She grew up on Harrison Avenue in Gloucester and graduated from Gloucester High School. Mary Ann was married to Paige O. Poole Sr. on April 12, 1953, and they were married for 41 years.
Mary Ann worked in the Poole Family Drug Store on Main Street, Rockport, assisting her husband with the business. She enjoyed knitting, baking, and home-making for family. She was also actively involved in the Catholic Church.
Mary Ann is survived by her daughter, Patricia Ann and husband, Peter Ferazzi of Rockport; daughter, Florence and husband, Shawn Sweet of Amesbury; son, Paige Jr. and wife, Adele Poole of Las Vegas, Nev.; her grandchildren, Robert Barrett-Sweet of Boston, Denise Ferazzi of Beveriy, Paul Ferazzi of Asheville, N.C., Aaron Poole of Gloucester, and Kiera and Peyton Poole of Myrtle Beach, S.C.; her sister, Sandra Lorentzen of Rockport; and many beloved nieces, nephews, grand-nieces and grand-nephews.
Mary Ann was preceded in death by her husband, Paige O. Poole Sr.; her brother, Arthur Munroe; and her parents, Arthur and Alice Munroe.
Her funeral will be held from the Greely Funeral Home, 212 Washington Street, Gloucester, on Friday, Dec. 30, at 8:45 a.m. followed by a Mass celebrated in St. Ann’s Church, Holy Family Parish at 9:30 a.m. Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend.
The burial will be held in Beech Grove Cemetery, Rockport.
Visiting Hours in the Greely Funeral Home will be held on Thursday from 4 to 8 p.m.
