Mary C.'s Story

Mary C. (Bachmann) Favaloro, 86, wife of the late Serafino “Sophie” Favaloro Jr., of Peabody, formerly of Gloucester, passed away on Monday, July 3, 2017 at Brooksby Village, with her family by her side.
Born in Beverly on May 31, 1931, she was the daughter of the late Emil and Margaret (MacDonald) Bachmann.
Mary was a graduate of St. Ann’s School. She had worked as a secretary for Kline and Gardner Law Office for 32 years before retiring.
Mary was very devout in her faith and was well known as being an extremely kind hearted lady always willing to help others. Her family was her passion, she lit up the room when her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren were around.
Mary battled Parkinson’s disease with grace and courage for 37 years, she was strong and determined and never let it get her down, always positive always loving.....we will miss her compassion.
She is survived by her children, Leslie Lavigne and husband Raymond of Hudson, N.H., Michael Favaloro and wife Sandra (Pratt) Favaloro of Gloucester and Mark Favaloro of Lawrence; grandchildren, Beth Philcranzt, Jonathan Murray, Jason, Carissa and Rachael Favaloro and Mark Favaloro Jr.; two great-grandsons, Collin and Camden Philcrantz; her sister, Caroline Curley and husband Charles of Melbourne, Florida; her brother, Joseph Bachmann of wife, Randi of Belmont, and many nieces and nephews.
Her funeral Mass will be celebrated in Our Lady of Good Voyage Church on Friday, July 7, at 9:30 a.m. Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend.
Visiting hours will be held on Thursday, (Today) from 4 to 7 p.m. in the Greely Funeral Home, 212 Washington Street, Gloucester. The burial will be held in Calvary Cemetery.
