Mrs. Mary L. (Bammarito) Brazier, 91, of Gloucester, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, November 29, 2016, in Addison Gilbert Hospital. She was the loving wife of Robert E. Brazier with whom she shared 56 years of marriage.
Mary was born November 26, 1925, in Gloucester. She was the daughter of the late Anthony and Katherine (Dandiano) Bammarito. She was a graduate of Gloucester High School and a lifelong resident of Gloucester.
She worked at Birdseye Division of Seafood’s as a fish packer and freezer worker for many years until her retirement. As a young woman she worked at Cape Ann Manufacturing where she met Robert, the love of her life. She also worked at the Atlantis Hotel for many years as well as the Hovey School in the Lunch Program.
She was a long-time communicant of Holy Family Parish St. Anns Church where she also enjoyed playing Bingo. She also played Bingo in Salem and Manchester-by-the-Sea.
In addition to her loving husband, Robert, Mary is survived by her son, David A. Brazier and his wife, Kim of Winthrop; her daughter, Kathleen Brazier of Gloucester; her brother, Joe Bammarito and his wife, Liz of Vermont; her sisters, Faye Curcuru of Gloucester, Angie Borge of Gloucester, Ann Watson and her husband, David of Gloucester, and Josie Fulhan of New Hampshire; and her sisters-in-law, Ida Bammarito of Gloucester and Mary Bammarito. She was the loving grandmother to Zoe M. Brazier of Winchester, a student at Eckerd College, and Zachary R. Brazier of Winthrop. She is also survived by a special friend and many nieces and nephews.
She was the sister of the late Catherine Francis and her late husband, Frank, Frances Susanno and her husband, Leo, Harry and Jimmy Bammarito. She was also predeceased by her brothers-in-law, Sam Curcuru, Norman Borge and Frank Fulhan; her nephews, Sandy Curcuru, Larry and Anthony Susanno.
Mary’s Funeral Service will be at Holy Family Parish in St. Ann’s Church, Prospect Street, Gloucester, on Monday, December 5, 2016, at 9:30 a.m. Visiting hours will be in the Pike-Newhall Funeral Home, 61 Middle St., Gloucester, on Sunday from 2 to 4 p.m. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited.
