Mary L. (Hinckley)'s Story
Mrs. Mary L. (Hinckley) Ciaramitaro, 64, of Gloucester, passed away Sunday morning, August 7, 2016, at home with her loving family at her side. She was the wife of Salvatore “Sam” Ciaramitaro, with whom she shared 43 years of marriage.
Mary was born June 9, 1952, in Gloucester, daughter of the late Frederick P. and Sarah E. (Johnson) Hinckley. She was a lifelong resident of Gloucester, a graduate of Gloucester High School, Class of 1970.
Mary was a Licensed Insurance Broker for many Insurance companies in Boston for several years until her retirement.
She treasured the time she spent with her family and friends. She also enjoyed traveling to Las Vegas, her trips to Foxwoods, and traveling to Italy. She was a member of the St. Ann’s Marching Parade and marched in the Rose Bowl Parade. She was a long time parishioner at Holy Family Parish St. Ann’s Church.
In addition to her loving husband, Sam, Mary is survived by her three sons, Salvatore Ciaramitaro and his wife, Julia of Penfield, N.Y.; James F. Ciaramitaro of Minneapolis, Minn.; and Marcello M. Ciaramitaro and his wife, Allegra Holland of Gloucester. She is also survived by her sisters, Evelyn A. Hinckley of Gloucester, and Donna L. Orlando and her husband, Vincent M. of Gloucester. She will be missed by her five cherished grandchildren, Laine P., Isabella G., Luca R., Griffin P., and Milo A. Ciaramitaro. She is also survived by her brother-in-law, Carlo and Giusi Ciaramitaro of Terrasini, Italy, and her sister-in-law, Agatha and Salvatore LoGrasso of Gloucester, and many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by brothers, Frederick P. Hinckley and James E. Hinckley; grandparents, Charles A. and Emma (Lucas) Hinckley, and John and Eliza (Stapleton) Johnson; and mother-in-law and father-in-law, Mercurio and Maria Teresa Ciaramitaro.
Mary’s Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Holy Family Parish in St. Ann’s Church, Prospect St. Gloucester on Thursday, August 11, 2016, at 9:30 a.m. Visiting hours will be in the Pike-Newhall Funeral Home, 61 Middle St., Gloucester on Wednesday, August 10, 2016, from 4 to 7 p.m. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited.
