ALTADENA, CA: M. Jane (Halloran) Lewis, 71, passed away peacefully on January 14, 2016, at her home in Altadena, Calif., after a seven-year and second battle with breast cancer. She was born March 26, 1944, in Newport, R.I., to Paul and Alice (Murphy) Halloran, grew up in Quincy, and later moved to Gloucester with her father and stepmother, Theresa (Connor) Halloran. She graduated from St. Ann High School in Gloucester and Salve Regina College in Newport, and became a registered dietitian. She moved to California in 1971 and later became the director of the Women, Infants, and Children program in Pasadena and participated in nutrition programs focused on women and children. She loved to travel and had visited Greece, Russia, Eastern Europe, Alaska, Peru and the Grand Canyon in just the last few years, in addition to several trips to visit family and friends in New England. She was also an avid reader and Elvis lover. She is survived by two daughters, Samara (Craig) and Lindsay; beloved granddaughter, Elliot; sister, Sue; brother, Paul; and nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, January 30, at 11:30 a.m., at Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Church, 240 East Orange Grove Boulevard, in Pasadena, CA.
