GLOUCESTER: Mary A. (Hemmer) Lovasco, 67, wife of Jerome Lovasco, of Gloucester, passed away on Wednesday morning, December 30, 2015, at the Beverly Hospital surrounded by her loving family.
Born in Gloucester on March 16, 1948, she was the daughter of the late Albert and Eunice (Nunes) Hemmer.
Mary was a graduate of Gloucester High School, Class of 1965. Mary loved the time she had to spend with her family and closest friends. She also enjoyed baking delicious pastries and going shopping. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
In addition to her husband Jerome, she is survived by her daughter, Laurie Serino and husband, Joseph of Danvers,; her son, Jerome Lovasco Jr. of Gloucester; grandchildren, Steele and Aria Serino, Brett Lovasco; her siblings, Katherine Middleton and husband, Thomas, Maureen Hemmer, James Hemmer; nephew T.J. Middleton; and many dear friends.
She was predeceased by her brother “Butch” Hemmer and her aunt Lucy Salles.
Her funeral will be held from the Greely Funeral Home, 212 Washington Street, Gloucester on Tuesday, January 5, at 10:15 a.m. followed by a funeral Mass in Our Lady of Good Voyage Church at 11 a.m. Extended family and friends are cordially invited to attend. Visiting hours will be held on Monday from 4 to 7 p.m., at the funeral home. The burial will be held in Dolliver’s Memorial Cemetery, West Gloucester.
