Mary M.'s Story

Mary M. (Oliver) Voller, 76, beloved wife of Louis R. Voller Sr., of Gloucester, passed away at her home on Wednesday, September 7, 2016.
Born in Gloucester on March 4, 1940, she was the daughter of the late Lawrence and Hortense (Naves) Oliver.
Mary had attended St. Ann’s School and later in life earned her high school diploma, which she was very proud of.
For many years, she worked as a hostess and waitress at several establishments including the Emerson Inn, Yankee Clipper Inn, Easterly and the Boulevard Ocean Restaurant.
Mary was very devout in her faith as a lifelong member of Our Lady of Good Voyage Church, where she also taught Sunday school.
She was a wonderful wife, mother and cherished the time she spent with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Mary was happiest when she had her whole family at her home, throwing birthday parties, celebrating the holidays or playing cards.
In addition to her husband, Louis, of 58 years, she is survived by her daughters, Susan Warren and husband, Terry of Wenatchee, Wash., Jeanine Whitten and husband, David, Christine DeLeon and husband, Jose; her son, Louis Voller, Jr., all of Gloucester; twelve grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; her siblings, Geraldine Puglisi, Barbara Cream, Lawrence Oliver, Jr., Ralph Oliver, Judy Mitchell, and Nancy Oliver; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her grandson, Michael DeLeon and great-granddaughter, Mia Ledbetter.
Her funeral will be held from the Greely Funeral Home, 212 Washington Street, Gloucester on Monday, September 12, at 9:15 a.m., followed by a funeral Mass in Our Lady of Good Voyage Church at 10 a.m. Extended family and friends are cordially invited to attend. Visiting hours will be held on Sunday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
The burial will be held in Calvary Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in her name to the Children’s Hospital, Make A Wish Foundation, Ronald McDonald House or St. Jude’s Children Hospital.
