Text size

Nancy M. (Burnham) Theriault, 80, of Rockport, wife of Paul Theriault, passed away at the Den Mar Health and Rehabilitation Center on Monday morning, December 26, 2016. Nancy was born in North Wildwood, N.J., on April 21, 1936, the daughter of the late Russell C. and Helen T. (Blair) Burnham. She graduated from Gloucester High School with the Class of 1954. She had a varied career working at the Motel Peg Leg, Curtis News, C.F. Thompkins in Gloucester and most of all, a homemaker, wife, mother, grandmother and a friend. Some of her favorite times were her many trips to Florida with her husband. She relaxed while at the beach, enjoying the sea, sun and collecting shells. Bingo was also at the top of her list. She would travel from Ft. Meyers to Miami and spend the day there playing with her friends. Nancy loved puzzles, computer games and going to Foxwoods. Lasagna was a Theriault trademark. She made this throughout her life. Even after her children were moved out, she still baked enough lasagna to feed an army. She loved her Christmas eves with family and friends and always had an open door policy. Everyone was welcomed. She will be missed by her sons, her loving grandchildren, family and friends.
She is survived by her husband, Paul, with whom she shared 56 years of marriage; her two sons, Stephen Theriault and his wife, Tania, Paul Theriault and his wife, Cindy, all of Rockport; a brother, Russell Burnham and his wife, Helen of Florida; four grandchildren, Ryan, Jake, Alex and Olivia Theriault of Rockport; a special aunt and uncle, Mary and Gene Kesterson of Gloucester; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her brother, Richard Burnham.
In keeping with Nancy’s wishes, there are no visiting hours, and a service will be held privately at a later date. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in her memory to Edward Peterson Post #98, American Legion, P.O. Box 117, Rockport, MA 01966. Arrangements are by the Greely Funeral Home, 212 Washington St., Gloucester. Online condolences may be given at www.greelyfuneralhome.com.
