Nina Diamond's Story
Nina Diamond Fieldsteel of Rockport, formerly of Closter, NJ, died peacefully at her home on May 29, 2017 at the age of 94.
Nina was the beloved wife of the late Ira Fieldsteel, mother of Joshua (and Esther) Fieldsteel of Jerusalem, Israel, Adam Fieldsteel (and Irene Mulvey) of Middletown, Connecticut, and Emmanuel Noggoh of Trenton, N.J. Her cherished grandchildren are Chaim Zvi, Meir, and Menachem Fieldsteel; Eli (and Miriam Tworek-Hofstetter), Nathan, and Zoe Fieldsteel; Jason (and Melissa Parks) and Matthew Noggoh.
A graduate of Barnard College/Columbia University (B.A. 1942) and Teachers College Columbia University (Ph.D. 1964), Nina had a long and illustrious career as a psychoanalyst and made major contributions to the field of psychology and, in particular, to group psychotherapy as a therapist, teacher, supervisor, consultant and author.
Nina was a passionate and devoted supporter of Rockport Music. She served on its Board of Directors and was a generous sponsor of both performances and educational programming.
