Norma A.'s Story
Norma A. (Rickett-Evans) Neagle, 82, wife of the late Philip A. Neagle, died Thursday, November 24, 2016, at her home.
Raised in Elizabethtown, Ky., she was the daughter of the late Edward and Mabel Rickett. She received her education in the Elizabethtown school system.
Mrs. Neagle was employed for many years as a secretary at the Osterville Elementary School on Cape Cod until the time of her retirement.
A resident of Manchester by the Sea for the past ten years, she had previously resided on Cape Cod for over 40 years. Norma was an avid walker who enjoyed walking the “loop” daily in Magnolia as well as the “heater” in Manchester. She was an avid golfer who enjoyed playing at Cummaquid Country Club on Cape Cod as well as the “Tuesday morning golf group” at the Cape Anne Golf Course in Essex. She also cooked passionately for her family and friends. A devoted mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, she will be remembered for her caring, kindness, and love of the ocean.
She is survived by her daughter, Tracy Evans Luiselli and her husband, Jim of Carlisle; two sons, Dr. Ira Evans and his wife, Susan of Manchester by the Sea, and William "Bill" Evans of Manchester by the Sea; five grandchildren, Gabrielle and Thomas Luiselli, Keir, Jordan and Tucker Evans; a sister, Jean McNeill and her husband, Bruce of Arkansas; and nieces and nephews.
Her memorial service will be held at the Crowell Chapel at Rosedale Cemetery, Rosedale Avenue, Manchester by the Sea, Sunday, December 4, 2016, at 2 p.m. Relatives and friends are invited to attend.
