Patricia A.'s Story
Patricia Ann (Selig) Dagle, 81, wife of the late Kenneth R. Dagle, of Rockport, passed away on Tuesday, July 11, 2017, at Care One Essex Park, Beverly.
Born in Gloucester on December 11, 1935, she was the daughter of the late Robert and Kathleen (McNamara) Selig.
Pat was a graduate of Rockport High School with the class of 1953.
She worked for Elliot Grimes Insurance Agency as their office manager which later became Mahoney & Wright. She finished out her career as office manager of John Walsh Insurance, who bought the original agency, retiring in 1992.
Pat and Ken became snowbirds in Dunnellon, Fla. where they enjoyed golfing, outside activities, dancing, and socializing with their friends.
Pat was a wonderful mother, never missing her children’s sporting events, and always ready with a hot meal for her family at dinner. She loved to play the piano and enjoyed country music and all Irish music. Pat and Ken had many memorable vacations to Bermuda and visits to her large family in Innishannon/Bandon and County Cork, Ireland. She was an avid golfer and longtime active member of the Rockport Golf Club.
She is survived by her son, Kevin Robert Dagle; her daughter, Kendra Kathleen Dagle; brother, Robert E. Selig, Jr.; sister-in-law, Jane B. Selig Klotz; her special friend and caregiver, Barbara Carter who was also a big sister to Kevin and Kendra; and her friends, the “Club Girls.”
In addition to her husband, Ken, she was predeceased by her brother, William G. Selig.
The Dagle family would like to extend a special note of gratitude to the nurses, aides, and staff at Care One Essex Park and the Herrick House for the care given to Pat during her illness.
Her graveside service will be held on Saturday, July 15, at 11:30 a.m. in Beech Grove Cemetery, Rockport. Extended family and friends are cordially invited to attend.
There are no visiting hours.
